Countries of Valdisotto
The town of Valdisotto extends between Mount Vallecetta and Mount St.
Columban, in fact, both belong to this ski area, one side of the "Bormio,"
so to speak, and that the slope of Oga-St Columba.
Among the localities of the town of San Bartolomeo Valdisotto are, Tola
Cepina, Santa Maria, Piazza, captains, St. Peter, Flat, Saint Lucia, Oga
and the famous resort Bormio 2000, Ciuk on the eastern side, and Le Fort
Oga motte on the western side.
Every village a few kilometers away from the others that you can travel
by bike, taking advantage to do so for a nice tour of nature and sport.
The mountains of Valdisotto
The western side of Mount Vallecetta is located in the Stelvio National
Park, but all Valdisotto is remarkable in terms of landscape.
All the villages are at the foot or on the slopes Vallecetta and Cima
Piazzi, a few miles from Bormio, dominated by the towering Horn of St.
Columba on the ski area of Oga, and the White Peak which overlooks the
ski area of Bormio .
Stelvio National Park
The Stelvio National Park is a veritable natural treasure for the variety
of flora and fauna present.
Established in 1935 and subsequently enlarged, extends between the autonomous
provinces of Trento and Bolzano and the Lombardy Region and along the
Parc Naziunal Engadine in Switzerland is an extremely valuable asset within
the Central Alps.
The purpose of the park are nature protection, landscape preservation,
information and environmental education, scientific research and tourism
and social enjoyment.
The baths of Bormio
Nine thermal springs gush out in the nearby area of Bormio and Valdidentro
and are exploited by two different spas: Bormio Terme and Bagni Vecchi,
Bormio and Valdidentro respectively.
The waters have healing properties and are used for medicinal and healing
purposes and aesthetic.
